Compass Waste Management 2020 CROW Calendar

The launch of the 2020 ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ calendar in support of CROW (Centre for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife) took place on Wednesday, 9 October.

CROW is the only registered wildlife rehabilitation centre dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of all indigenous wildlife found in KwaZulu-Natal.

The wildlife calendar is a fundraising initiative of Compass Cares, the CSI arm of Compass Medical Waste Services. The proceeds from the sale of the calendar support injured, vulnerable and orphaned animals and to date Compass has raised over R2.5 million for animal welfare.

With the help of loyal sponsors and the animal lovers who have bought the calendar for the past ten years, the following has been made possible for CROW:

  • 3 x vehicles

  • Geese enclosures – in one baby season CROW can house 800 Egyptian Geese.

  • Education Officer – over 200 000 children in KZN have received the Wildlife Warriors education talk

  • Baboon Enclosure

  • Antelope Enclosure – this has helped CROW to house more baby antelope to keep up with incoming rescues, which is sadly on the rise

  • Ops room, clinic and clinic upgrade

Thank you must go to wildlife photographers Marc and Stella de Chalain of The Storehouse who sponsored all the photos for the 2020 calendar and to Brendan Bromfield who has designed all 11 wildlife calendars.

To purchase your A2 calendar or smaller tent or CD size calendars please contact Shivanee on 031 267 9700 or visit to view the full calendar and place an order.

Why not give a ‘proudly South African’ Christmas or end of year gift which supports a worthy cause. #SupportLocal.
